CRAFT INSPIRATION #2

We love to write about interior design at custard and mustard craft, so our inspiration today is COLOURS! Most parents will agree that providing their children with a wonderful living space in which they can thrive, learn and play is of paramount importance, which is why colours in a nursery is an awesome idea.
A child’s surroundings can have a huge impact on how they grow and develop, so parents should always try to make their children’s living spaces as comfortable and fun as possible within their means. I remember growing up for me was so much fun with plenty of pictures and bright colourful artwork up on my walls. Sleeping in a bed that looks like a pirate ship or a pink princess’ wagon, as one can imagine, would probably fill a child’s life with endless hours of joy.

There are plenty of great wallpaper options, or if you don’t want to commit, what about wall stickers and murals? Colour play an important part, no matter whether your style is modern, country or traditional. From bunk beds to toy boxes and desks to bean bags, you’ll need to think about how the space can best work for your kids.
 
 
Picking out the right kids bedroom furniture can also be fun and exciting when you can create them in any colour of your choice. Baby nursery is the only place in your home that you can splash colours or decorative themes and maybe even create the room you wish you had as a child if resources were not an issue. Pictures are worth a 1,000 words as the old saying goes so here are some of the best looking rooms with bright and refreshing colors, and we know how much kids love cool colours. As you will see there are some great space saving set ups here with pull and fold out trundle beds, table and desks as well as storage cabinets in a wide variety of configurations which help you visualize so many ideas that may have gone overlooked.  It is our hope that you get some decorating ideas for your kids bedroom furniture and accessories, after all its the details that really matter. The Transition from Crib to Toddler Bed

This is my current situation as my girls are only 12months and are already attempting to make a jailbreak. This is so scary and I know its also scary for new mums and in order to avoid any domestic accident we tend to rush to switch up the beds. In my opinion, don't rush right out and buy a new bed the day your toddler first climbs out of the crib. He or she may not be ready to move to a new bed, and it may not be safe for him or her to be up and about during the night when everyone else is asleep. Buy yourself some time by lowering the crib mattress as far as possible, so the side rails are relatively higher and more difficult to climb over or buy a convertible crib that turns into a toddler bed with the removal of the front panel, this can make the change seem less drastic to a toddler. choosing nursery furniture

Having a baby is such an exciting time, but it is a long 9 months waiting for your little bundle of joy to arrive.  In that time however there is lots to prepare - baby names, baby groups, work and most importantly the nursery !  Looking for your dream nursery suddenly makes everything seem a lot more real.  I waited until the last possible minute before buying cot beds and changer for my twin girls (I wish I'd launched this blog/website before!), because there are lots of choices out there so a bit of preparation will hopefully make the decisions a bit easier!
